Terms of use

Last updated 11 October 2026.

About these terms

These terms apply when you use whatishvac.co.uk, run by What Is HVAC, 1A The Cobalt Centre, Coventry CV3 4PE. By using the site you accept them.

Our guides are general information

We work hard to keep prices, rules and grant details accurate and dated, but they change and every home is different. Our guides aren’t a substitute for advice from a qualified engineer who has seen your property. Never attempt gas work yourself: by law it must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

How the quote service works

When you send a quote request, we pass your details to independent engineers who cover your area. Any quote, contract and work is between you and the engineer you choose. We don’t carry out work, set engineers’ prices or guarantee their work, so check their registration and get the terms in writing before you agree to anything.

Using the site

You may read, print and share our pages for personal use. Don’t copy our content for commercial use without permission, or try to disrupt or misuse the site.

Links to other sites

We link to sources such as GOV.UK and Ofgem. We aren’t responsible for the content of other websites.

Our responsibility to you

We aren’t liable for losses that come from relying on general information on this site or from work carried out by engineers you hire. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
