Home Ventilation installation Bournemouth

Ventilation installation in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

Extractor fans, positive input ventilation and heat recovery. We pass your request to ventilation installers covering the BCP area.

Bournemouth's Victorian villas were built as large single homes and many have since been split into flats. A bathroom squeezed into a former bedroom or a kitchen in an old hallway often has no window and weak extraction.

That, plus sea air and drying washing indoors, is why ventilation calls are common here.

Windowless rooms

An internal bathroom must have a mechanical extract fan ducted to the outside. Check the duct isn't just dumping air into a ceiling void, which causes mould in the roof space.

Fans with a humidity sensor and a run-on timer suit holiday lets and shared flats, because they work without anyone remembering to switch them on.

PIV in bungalows

Bungalows with a large loft are ideal for positive input ventilation: one unit in the loft feeds filtered air into the hallway, pushing moist air out. Installation is usually a few hours.

Kitchens and bathrooms

Approved Document F of the Building Regulations sets minimum extract rates for kitchens and bathrooms. If your fan is old, noisy or barely moves a sheet of paper, it probably falls short.

Recirculating cooker hoods filter grease but leave moisture in the room. A ducted hood is much better if there's an outside wall.

Help with the cost

MVHR in new builds

New homes on the edge of the conurbation often come with MVHR. It only works well if the filters are changed and the system isn't switched off. Check the manual and keep a spare set of filters.
